ULUSOY UN OPENED THE FACTORY IN HATAY

Turkey's leading flour producer and exporter Ulusoy Un inaugurated its flour factory in Hatay Antakya Organized Industrial Zone on Wednesday, December 20, with the participation of Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı, Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Assoc. Dr. Lütfi Savaş, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Ömer Ersever and other protocol members. The factory with 275 tons/day wheat crushing capacity was put into operation as a result of the revision works carried out for technology renewal, contributing to the economic development of the earthquake region, and will enable Ulusoy Un to access the domestic market in the south and southeast region with more cost-effective transportation. With this factory, Ulusoy Un increased the number of its existing factories to 5, while its total production capacity reached 4,200 tons/day, maintaining its position as Turkey's largest flour producer by far.

In the first 9 months of 2023, Ulusoy Un achieved a sales revenue of TL 24 billion, representing a growth of 75% compared to the same period of the previous year. In April, Ulusoy Un acquired a factory with a wheat crushing capacity of 275 tons/day in Hatay Antakya Organized Industrial Zone in order to provide easier access to the south and southeast regions of Turkey. The plant, which has a closed area of 6,880 square meters on a total area of 10,186 square meters, was inaugurated on Wednesday, December 20 with the participation of Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı, Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Assoc. Dr. Lütfi Savaş, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Ömer Ersever and other protocol members. With the factory, which was put into operation as a result of the revision works carried out for technology renewal, the number of active factories of Ulusoy Un increased to 5. Speaking at the opening of the factory, Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ulusoy Un, said: "Ulusoy Un is a company that exports to 102 countries and serves not only Turkey's but also the world's food security. The acquisition of the shares of Söke Değirmencilik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. in 2022 for a total of 2,485 tons/day, including 2,085 tons/day in Samsun and 400 tons/day in Çorlu. A.Ş. shares of Söke Değirmencilik San ve Tic. A.Ş. in 2022, and the addition of the 1,440 tons/day capacity of the Aydın and Ankara factories of this company, our total production capacity reached 3,925 tons/day. With the commissioning of the factory in Hatay, our total production capacity reached 4,200 tons/day, maintaining our position as Turkey's largest flour producer by far. With the commissioning of the factory, we aim to achieve a cost advantage by using the ports in the Mersin, Adana and Iskenderun regions for the supply of raw materials and an increase in our export tonnage thanks to the proximity to the southern neighbors of our country. Our company will have the opportunity to access the domestic market in the south and southeast region of our country with more cost-effective transportation. Thus, with our factories located in 5 different regions within our company, we have reached the active production capacity to expand sales to all regions of Turkey. Ulusoy Un, Turkey's 247th largest exporter according to the TIM1000 list, Turkey's 273rd largest industrial enterprise according to the ISO500 list and the largest company in its sector, ranks 69th according to the Fortune500 list and 84th largest company in Turkey according to the Capital500 survey of Capital magazine. Ulusoy Un, which recently realized its first sukuk and financing bond issuance within the scope of access to alternative financing channels and continues to invest in renewable energy resources, is ranked as the 17th largest company in Anatolia according to the "Anatolia's 500 Largest Companies" survey of Ekonomist magazine.
