Eren Günhan Ulusoy, President of the Turkish Flour Industrialists' Federation, said that Turkey achieved the highest amount of flour export in a year in the history of the world, with its export last year. Noting that exports in wheat increased by 25 percent in 2016, Ulusoy said, "We will increase exports by 10 percent in 2017 compared to the previous year." said.

Pointing out that the Turkish Flour Industrialists have been the world's first in exports for the last 5 years, Ulusoy stated that they expect to increase exports by 10 percent in 2017 compared to the previous year, and this rate may reach up to 20 percent.


Pointing out that the ban on wheat imported from Russia within the scope of DIR will not increase the costs, Ulusoy said, "Wheat from Russia has a freight advantage only for our northern regions. We will close the gap with regions such as Germany, Lithuania and Ukraine." said.


From Ulusoy:

- The sector had a current account surplus of 1.3 billion dollars in 2016.

- Precipitation is not bad, 2017 wheat harvest catches up with last year.

- Wheat not imported from Russia will have a limited impact on costs.
